Monthly Recap: June 2026

In the Monthly Recap: May 2026 post, these were my plans for June:

In June, I am engaging more with the 3D printing community

• MRRF 2026: Midwest Rep Rap Festival in Goshen, Indiana

• Twitch streams: One of my Twitch goals for the month is to decide on a stream schedule for my core streams to be able to give viewers advanced notice. 

• Virtual Wine and Paint event

I spent a large part of the month on printing and preparing for MRRF, the weekend itself, and event follow-up.

My table's focus was to showcase my duck designs while inviting visitors to connect with me via online platforms and collect color-coded ducks. Given my fairly last-minute decision on some elements of my display, I'm pretty happy with how these ponds of ducks, signs, duck sign holders, and kawaii pepper pins turned out!

On one end of the table, I had my TPU squeaky toys out for my husband (@spooldesigns) to showcase his 3D printed squeakers. 

Between the ducks and the squeaky toys, we had a giant Glizzy that my friend Chris from Layer One 3D Printing printed on the Snapmaker U1. I brought this over to the Morpho UV printer booth to have them give Glizzy a MRRF tattoo 🤣 Check out the YT short to see it in action!

I also had my biggest fan, Nora, helping me at the table 🥰 IYKYK

Overall, it was a wonderful weekend of makers meeting and mingling!

I spent quite a bit of time on some of my streams sculpting ducks for the summer. 

Someone previously requested for an Uncle Sam duck and I've been meaning to make a hotdog duck, so I worked on these during my Twitch streams to have them released in time for Independence Day. 

After publishing the Uncle Sam duck, there were requests for ducks to celebrate Canada Day, so Lorne the Dapper Canadian Duck and Dougie the Canadian Toque Duck were born!

Having people in chat to bounce ideas off of and get feedback while I sculpted these in Nomad Sculpt was both helpful and fun. I'll be doing more sculpting streams in the future for more seasonal and themed ducks as well as other organic shaped models -- join us!

I was invited to be a guest at a virtual wine and paint event where we printed a 3D model ahead of time and painted it during the event. Overall it was a good experience meeting people and seeing how people chose to print and paint. One thing I realized during the event was that my ducks work pretty well as paintbrush rests -- how fun!

Between this event and watching RetroMakerTV's art streams, I'm looking forward to painting more 3D prints as a relaxing activity while chatting on stream!
