Horse Race Chess (Vietnamese: cờ cá ngựa) is a game commonly played during Lunar New Year. Similar to Ludo/Parchessi/Sorry, players roll dice to move their pieces around the board, racing to get their pieces to the end first.

You'll need the parts provided here, two dice and 2-4 players. You can find the rules to Vietnamese Horse Race Chess online -- if this model becomes popular, I'll create a video. There's also nothing stopping you from creating your own rules – have fun and enjoy!

Design details

I designed pieces of the board to be separate pieces so that they could easily be swapped out for different colors (for example, extra colors can be available for each player to choose their favorite color to play, or specific seasonal/holiday colors can be used).

I remembering playing this as a kid with family and friends during the holidays and family gatherings. I designed and 3D printed this for my family, and they've been playing with it for over a year, even taking it on vacation – pieces fit into a standard filament box.
